Direct Deposit of Payroll Income (DDP)

As the Product Manager and Delivery Lead for the Direct Deposit of Income (DDP) project, I spearheaded the development and implementation of a groundbreaking, first-in-the-industry capability to integrate direct deposit data into our income underwriting processes. This involved defining the necessary policies, conducting extensive data analysis, and assessing the impact of these changes on our loan population. I successfully negotiated with our credit risk partners to secure approval for the new income calculation model we developed. This model, a linear regression model enhanced with clustering techniques, utilized direct deposit information from customers' internal bank accounts to determine income.

Additionally, we created a LIFT calculator to back-test the changes and evaluate the model's precision and recall compared to traditional underwriting methods. The implementation of this innovative project resulted in a significant operational improvement, saving over 30 minutes per loan.
